The eagerly anticipated Abu Dhabi Science Festival (ADSF) has launched its new advance online ticketing system. The festival will take place on October 10-20 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the Corniche (West Plaza), in addition to bespoke locations at Al Ain and Al Gharbiyah.
The highly popular event which saw overwhelming success last year in attracting over 100,000 visitors is a strategic initiative by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee (TDC). The festival is dedicated to the engagement and inspiration of our nation’s children with science related hands-on activities as part of a wider plan geared towards building Abu Dhabi’s talent base in science, technology and innovation. The release of advance online tickets for the thrilling experiences at ADNEC enables visitors to maximise their access to the hugely popular activities and avoid waiting time at entry as well as for favourite shows and workshops.
The Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2012 has an exciting array of activities designed specifically to motivate our children, instilling a passion for science and ultimately inspiring them to pursue related careers. They can laugh at the magic of physics with the spectacle of comedian Rhys Thomas and his messy tricks. Marvel at the Magic Globe, watching how the moon’s shadow plunges us into night and discover more about the men and women who risk their lives to explore our galaxy. The children can also bring to life their favourite crime busting TV Forensic Scientists in our special Crime Scene Investigation workshop. Most of the Festival’s shows and workshops run on a periodical basis and have limited capacity. This year, the new online ticket service enables families and children to plan their participation in favourite activities and make the most of their time at the Festival.
Tickets are daily and nominally priced:
* Children 5 - 15 = AED 10, includes 1 show, 2 workshops and full day access to interactive exhibits.
* Adults (16+) = AED 5, includes 1 show and full day access to interactive exhibits.
All children under 15 need to be accompanied by an adult.
Pre-booked ticket holders will avoid any box office queues on the day and can walk in and get started on the interactive exhibitions. Other benefits of the online ticketing system include the chance to pre-book seats at the popular shows and workshops, which are subject to availability: Adult (16+) can pre-book one show performance; children (5-15) may pre-book either one show and two workshops or three workshops.
Tickets can be purchased in advance on-line using the Abu Dhabi Science Festival website. The onsite Box Office at ADNEC opens one hour before the festival opens and is operational for the duration of the Festival, allowing parents to buy tickets for that day, or any other day of the Festival. All events at the Abu Dhabi Corniche are free-of-charge. Further details can be found at www.abudhabisciencefestival.ae < http://www.abudhabisciencefestival.ae>.
