Al Ain Zoo today announced that it will be participating in the 10th Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) to be held from September 5 to 8, 2012 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The exhibition will be open to consumer and trade visitors from 11am to 10pm on all four show days. The zoo’s corporate exhibition stand will be located in hall 9, stand 9E19.
Being dedicated to Education and Conservation and fostering a lifestyle of harmonious living with wildlife and nature, Al Ain Zoo’s experienced Education Centre personnel and Conservation team will inform visitors about the zoo’s comprehensive education programmesand conservation activities, both ex-situ and in-situ.
Muna Al Dhaheri, Acting Director Life Science & Education, commented:
“Al Ain Zoo is home to an internationally important conservation programme focusing on the wildlife of the world’s arid regions. The zoo is involved in conservation research, captive breeding and propagation, and the reintroduction of threatened species to their wild habitats. Furthermore, our Education Centre encourages life-long learning about the complex desert eco-system and the inter-relationships of people, culture and their environment. We offer a variety of conservation and curriculum-related education programmes, guided and self-guided tours and other activities to students of all ages and provide them with authentic learning experiences and a great outdoor day in touch with nature.”
In addition, the zoo’s Animal Collection department will contribute to the exhibition’s exciting programme of cultural heritage activities and live performances by displaying a specially choreographed Bird Show, which will take place in the show arena in hall 12.
