In keeping with the spirit of the HolyMonth of Ramadan, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi recently hosted a sumptuous iftar for autistic children and their families, in conjunction with The Emirates Autism Center in Abu Dhabi, a private center specialized in the field of autism.
“The Holy month of Ramadan reminds us to give back to our community whenever possible,” said John Pelling, General Manager, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi.
The Emirates Autism Center was established in March 2007 in Abu Dhabi through the efforts of parents of autistic children seeing that the current absorptive capacity of specialized centers was no longer able to meet the increasing number of autistic children. Autism prevalence rate is 1 every 88 births. The centre presently has 50 students; 50% of which are U.A.E Nationals and 26 of which are integrated in ordinary public and private schools from Kg1 up to Grade 12.
The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi’s first true beach resort, is beautifully located on the pristine white natural beach of Saadiyat and framed by the prestigious Saadiyat Beach Golf Course. The resort is only an hour from Dubai and a short drive from the city’s downtown.
