Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), master developer of cultural, residential and tourism destinations in Abu Dhabi, today announced that the exclusive Eastern Mangroves complex is on track for first phase completion in June. The project, which occupies a prime position along a 1.2 kilometre stretch of Abu Dhabi’s protected Eastern Mangroves district, incorporates the five-star Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara, an exclusive resort-style residential community and the ‘Eastern Mangroves Promenade’ retail complex. The hotel and first phase of the residential component will be completed in summer 2012, while the retail area and remaining residential buildings will be finished in Q4 2012.

A number of key construction milestones have been achieved by TDIC; highlights for the hotel include the completion of almost all rooms and suites, and the majority of front of house areas and exterior works. The main construction work of the Promenade retail complex is completed and handover of the outlets to tenants will begin in Q3 of 2012. With 2300 workers currently engaged in completing the buildings, attention has been turned to putting the final touches on the hotel and completing the first phase of the residential buildings.

The development is an exciting addition to the emirate’s ever-expanding hospitality and residential offerings, providing a luxury haven away from the bustle of city life in central Abu Dhabi. All properties of the development offer breathtaking views of the natural green mangroves, with the impressive Abu Dhabi skyline panoramically framing the background. The development benefits from being in one of the city’s most accessible locations, with easy access to the city centre via Al Salaam Street. Residents, guests and visitors can reach Eastern Mangroves both by land and sea; a 30-berth marina will facilitate yachts and boats.

The residential component of Eastern Mangroves consists of the high-end, luxurious units of The Residences and the sleek, spacious apartments of The Promenade Apartments. The Residences feature only 50 high-end units, which is indicative of the level of exclusivity they offer. The Promenade Apartments feature a selection of 170 spacious apartments set across two buildings.
