Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) today announced that more than 75 per cent of retail space at The Collection has been leased. Located within The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, this exclusive retail complex is set to be the ultimate recreational destination in Abu Dhabi, catering to both residents and visitors to Saadiyat. The Collection, which consists of a mix of 22 restaurants and retail outlets, is the first retail complex on the island with unites space raging from 30 sqm to 600 sqm, and will start to open from the third quarter of 2012.

The Collection will feature food and beverage options from both regional and international cuisine, while everyday shopping needs will be catered for by a supermarket, as well as other conveniences such as a pharmacy, hairdressing and nail salon, banking facilities and gift shops.

With a total of 6,000 sqm of leasable space, The Collection features architecture inspired by old-world Mediterranean villages, with terraces, courtyards and piazzas. Designed to capture the play of light and shade, the area will feature colour palettes that are light, sophisticated and reflective, accented by natural stones from all over the world.

With the picturesque Saadiyat Beach as its backdrop, The Collection holds an enviable location adjacent to The Residences at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, which consists of a prestigious collection of 32 exclusive villas and 259 apartments. The first phase apartments have now been fully leased and tenants have moved in; second phase units are now available for lease. The retail area is also connected to the resort’s luxurious hotel, which features 377 stunning rooms, fine-dining restaurants, a beach club, and the Iridium Spa.
