ADNEC-owned ExCeL London, the international exhibition and convention centre, experienced its busiest ever day on Sunday 29th July, with over 65,000 visitors to the venue.
The venue is currently playing a major role in the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’, as the host for 7 Olympic and 6 Paralympic events and is the only venue to be staging events on every single day of the Games.
Kevin Murphy, CEO, ExCeL London: “We are delighted to have already welcomed so many people to ExCeL London for the 2012 Olympic Games. So far everything has worked perfectly, with the transport infrastructure delivering everyone to the venue smoothly, whether they travel by train, plane or cable car, followed by a well-managed and rapid entrance into the venue, once they arrive onsite. Our events are running at near capacity on every sport and feedback via Twitter is overwhelmingly positive. I’m looking forward to the remainder of the Games and showcasing the venue and our fantastic capital City to the rest of the world.”
As we go to press, ExCeL London is set to break its own record with an even busier day today (Wednesday 1 August) – with 30% more people travelling on the DLR, than ever before, to access the venue.

Table Tennis is trending in the UK. Awesome. Must be because how brilliantly organised it has been at #London2012.

Not sure what all the fuss is about empty seats, weight lifting was packed last night. Organisation was excellent too at ExCeL.

Beautiful day at ExCeL a lot of people flowing in, but no queuing. Several double decker buses dropping off 5 or 6 people at a time. DLR fine.
