Oxford Business Group Becomes GFMF Media Partner
(26 February 2012)

Oxford Business Group, the global publishing, research, and consultancy firm, has become a media partner of the 2012 Global Financial Markets (GFMF) Forum to be held in Abu Dhabi February 29 and March 1st.

GFMF, organised annually by NBAD’s Financial Markets Division, is recognised as a renowned medium for investors and financial thinkers to discuss and debate the latest critical issues of the day in one of the most important emerging regions of the world. This is the fourth year in the row NBAD has organised GFMF.

“Oxford Business Group seeks to partner with conferences that reach the high calibre of professional attendees that GFMF reaches, and to provide them with recent Oxford Business Group Country Reports,” says Michelle Solomon, Regional Director of OBG. “For the GFMF this adds gravitas and represents an attractive and valuable item for delegates to take away at the end of the event. For OBG, not only is this serving our community of opinion-formers and decision-makers interested in our core markets, but also it is fulfilling our organisational mission of doing all we can to bring current insightful comment on key country markets around the world to those who have interest in them.”

NBAD, committed to transparency, considers the media a valuable asset in society. The annual GFMF creates a forum to discuss the most current and critical issues of the day.

“The Oxford Business Group is one of the most prominent firms that provide comprehensive analysis of macroeconomic and sectoral developments, including banking, capital markets, energy, infrastructure, industry and insurance. This is why we are so pleased they chose to become a partner to 2012 Global Financial Markets Forum, which confirms the prestige of this global event,” says Mahmood Al Aradi, the Senior General Manager of NBAD’s Financial Markets Division. “The annual Global Financial Markets Forum has increased awareness and knowledge about market conditions helped in uplifting the region’s influence.”

This year the Forum will primarily focus on the economic outlook for Europe and US and their impact on the global economies. In addition, there will be discussion on regional infrastructure financing, debt capital markets as well as coverage on various asset classes such as real estate, commodities, foreign exchange and interest rates.
The Forum will also present two prominent central bankers: Mr. Paul Volcker, an economic advisor to President Obama and Chairman of the Federal Reserve System; and Mr. Axel Weber, former president of Deutsche Bundesbank and a member of European Central Bank Governing Council.

“Over the last three years the Global Financial Markets Forum has been recognised as a distinguished forum for the most critical issues of the day, especially those affecting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and given this region’s rising influence, the world is increasingly coming here to gain greater information,” says Sameh Abdulla Al Qubaisi, the General Manager of Institutional and Corporate Coverage Group at NBAD’s Financial Markets Division.

Further details about the Forum are provided on http://www.gfmf-nbad.com/
