The ministry of public works will spend a total amount of AED110 million on maintenance works on federal government buildings, it was disclosed by the ministry’s executive director for works affairs, Ibrahim Abdullah Al Wahabi.
He pointed out that AED78 million out of the total amount would be spent on maintenance works on the existing building structures, AED25 million will be spent on expansion works on some of the existing building structures, while AED7 million will be spent on direct orders for urgent maintenance works. He said beneficiaries of the currently approved maintenance contracts include the ministries of health, education, works and social affairs, environment, finance, the Culture, Youth and Sports Authority and the Awqaf Authority, adding that the maintenance works would be completed within this year.
