Minister of environment and Water, Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd, will lead UAE delegation to the 19th ministerial meeting of the Agricultural Cooperation Committee of member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The meeting, to be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, on July 1, will discuss a number of agricultural and environmental issues, including laws on seeds, seedlings, veterinary medicine practicing, animal rights and unified law for the use and protection of water resources, which the meeting would approve to make it binding on all member states.
The meeting will also review a number of memoranda on joint cooperation in the field of agriculture, including a memorandum on the UAE’s efforts to set up a semi-regional office of the United Nation’s Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). The office will have seven experts in various agriculture areas to serve the region.
