A visiting delegation from the Chinese resort of Sanya - which will host the fourth leg stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race once the fleet leaves Abu Dhabi - has welcomed ADTA officials at its pavilion at the Destination Village on the Corniche Breakwater.
His Excellency Mubarak Al Muhairi, Director General, ADTA and its Deputy Director General, Abdulaziz Al Hammadi were welcomed to the Sanya pavilion by the Vice Mayor of Sanya Huang Shaowen and the Deputy Director of the Sanya Tourism Development Commission Tang Sixian.
The Vice Mayor spoke of the similarities between the two destinations – both of which are fielding a competitive team in the Volvo Ocean Race for the first time - and welcomed ADTA’s plans to mount a destination pavilion, complete with heritage activities including a falconer, henna painter and calligrapher at the Sanya stopover.
