The UAE peaceful nuclear energy program is looking for pioneers

With a strong commitment to the development of human capital to fuel the future of the UAE nuclear industry ENEC, in association with the Khalifa University for Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR), and the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) have opened admissions for the fourth consecutive year of the UAE Nuclear Energy Scholarship Program.

The scholarship program, which aims to nurture Emirati scholars to become the next generation of leaders for the Emirates Nuclear Power program, is now in its fourth year and has established a strong reputation for excellence attracting over 300 submissions in the last intake. The program provides UAE nationals with a full scholarship to enrol in some of the world’s finest universities in the UAE, USA and Korea where they will gain invaluable exposure to the finest minds and technologies in the engineering sector.

The Bachelors Program offers students the opportunity to study across various disciplines including Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering, as well as Physics, whereas the Masters Program is focussed specifically on Nuclear Engineering. Once the studies are complete, the selected UAE national scholars will be provided with premier career opportunities in the UAE’s growing nuclear energy industry.

For admission into the scholarship program, applicants must meet several minimum requirements that demonstrate Science and English Proficiency. Scholars are then invited for interviews with a panel of seasoned experts from Academia and Industry. The interviews will be used to select the final candidates based on set criteria of academic performance, aptitude and motivation to join the program and eventually the UAE nuclear industry.
