Abu Dhabi In-Flight Catering (ADIFC), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) , announced today it has received the 2010 Silver IATA In-flight Catering Quality Assurance Award in recognition of its sustained focus on quality and safety. Abu Dhabi In-Flight Catering was ranked as one of the top 3 qualifying in-flight caterers for the 3rd consecutive year from within caterers across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The selection of award winners is based on a series of nine detailed audits over a period of three years. To be nominated, a caterer must consistently score above 90% for food processing safety and above 80% for food processing quality. These audits, conducted unannounced and lasting for several days, are regarded throughout the world as one of the toughest measures of performance for in-flight caterers.
In addition to the Silver award for 2010, ADIFC was awarded in 2008 and 2009, the Gold and Bronze in-flight catering awards respectively.
On this occasion, Huraiz Al Mur bin Huraiz, Chief Commercial Officer of ADAC, commented:
“We are very proud to have received one of the top 3 awards for the third consecutive year. This is a result of the combined continuous efforts of our stakeholders and staff members which have helped us provide recognizable sustainable services. The awards give us the motive to further improve and excel in our world-class services to all our airline customers and their passengers.”
