Al Bateen Executive Airport posts 18% increase in aircraft movements in Q1
(11 April 2011)

Al Bateen Executive Airport, the Gulf Region’s first and only dedicated private aviation airport operated and managed by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), has announced an 18% increase in commercial aircraft movements in the first quarter of 2011 versus the same period last year.

The Executive airport continues to register high double digit growth in its commercial traffic from both based and visiting aircraft operators.

Commenting on this news, Stephen Jones, General Manager of Al Bateen Executive Airport, said: “We continue to see the growth trends of 2010 being carried through to this year which confirms the strong positioning of Al Bateen as an efficient and convenient facility for business aviation.”

Al Bateen registered 15 new visiting aircraft operators in March 2011 alone, whilst based operators continue to take delivery of new aircraft. In March 2011, Al Bateen based Al Jaber Aviation added a fifth aircraft, a Lineage 1000, to its fleet.

Falcon Aviation Services, the largest and longest established of the based operators at Al Bateen Executive Airport, registered a strong increase in Q1traffic with over 8% growth versus the same period in 2010.

A.J. Baker, Vice President Business Development & Strategy at Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) said: “FAS had a strong first quarter with the introduction of our new Linage 1000 into commercial operations in February, joining our existing fleet of G450 and Legacy 600 aircraft, all of which have seen solid performance over the period”.

In addition to the Private Jet activities, FAS also conducted several hundred helicopter movements at Bateen across their Offshore, Private and Tourism/Charter sectors during the first quarter of 2011. “The infrastructure upgrades and the enhanced services being provided by both Al Bateen and ADAC are contributing significantly to both improved support services for our clients and for the continued growth of our business” said Baker.

Further developments to infrastructure and services at Al Bateen Executive Airport, will be unveiled during its participation at the European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (EBACE) that will take place in Geneva on 17th-19th May, this year.
