Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a health system facility under the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), has announced the streamlining of its operations as a step towards gaining international accreditation.
Aiming to endorse the highest standard of healthcare services in Abu Dhabi, AHS has executed a number of effective strategies for enhancing policies across its extensive scope of work.
AHS has successfully rolled out new clinics and improved the facilities at existing establishments under its purview. In addition to structuring a central laboratory and introducing an archiving system for X-ray data, patient charts and communication in all clinics, AHS has driven the expansion of a dental center from a patient capacity of eight to 21. Additionally, AHS has opened two Disease Prevention and Screening Centers (DPSC) in Gayathi and Suwaihan.
AHS, which was hitherto engaged in the management and development of clinics located in remote areas in Abu Dhabi, has categorically proven its ability to offer best practices and services at its facilities. Backed by its reputation in transforming the emirate’s suburban healthcare map, AHS will henceforth oversee all healthcare clinics within the city of Abu Dhabi. As part of its extended mandate, AHS will oversee the policies and procedures of city clinics.
AHS has also taken measures to achieve financial sustainability and independence through creative strategies and optimal use of resources. Furthermore, AHS aims to cut operational costs to offer affordable and quality healthcare services to the national and non-national residents of Abu Dhabi.
Mr. Rashid Saif Al Qubaisi, CEO, AHS, said: "Our goal is to integrate progressive practices that measure up to international expectations within the existing healthcare infrastructure. We are committed to establishing benchmarks in healthcare services, workplace policies, and readiness to provide optimum medical care at all times, besides meeting patient expectations within the region. Towards this end, we have sought global certifications on our services. We hope to extend the approach across the new clinics that have been included under our purview."
AHS has envisioned strategies to improve the workplace culture at its facilities through the promotion of learning, positive attitudes and enhancement of technical skills related to the job, across all levels of the organization. In addition, efforts have been taken to account for the concerns and expectations of patients to develop customer service at each AHS facility.
In a bid to strengthen its positioning in the region, AHS is looking at new avenues for upgrading existing facilities. Additionally, AHS seeks to drive knowledge sharing exercises in partnership with distinguished facilities and accreditation agencies to achieve international standards in their services.
AHS is a unique outpatient care concept from SEHA that aims to offer easy access to primary and specialist patient care, including comprehensive laboratory and modern diagnostic facilities. AHS is responsible for operating school health services, disease prevention and screening centers, mobile clinic solutions and ambulatory care centers across Abu Dhabi.
