Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, a top-tier Islamic financial services institution, announced today that its ADIB-Etihad Guest Visa Card was named ’Best Co-brand Card’ and ’Best Islamic Card’ at the Smart Card Awards Middle East 2012. The Shari’a compliant covered card was judged to be the best across the Middle East for demonstrating strong customer value propositions and rewards, a high level of customer acceptance and enhanced customer satisfaction levels.
The ADIB-Etihad Guest Co-branded Card offers cardholders Etihad Guest Miles on every purchase plus a welcome sign up bonus of up to 50,000 Etihad Guest Miles. It also offers free companion tickets, upgrades to higher membership status within the Etihad Guest loyalty program, complimentary Priority Pass giving access to over 600+ lounges worldwide, airport valet parking and a dedicated ADIB travel desk service.
Trad Al Mahmoud, CEO of ADIB said: "These awards are proof that ADIB-Etihad Guest Card is the best co-brand card customers can have in the region. It provides unparalleled rewards and benefits to customers while making their life simple and convenient. The awards also show that we compare well with both conventional as well as Islamic banking products and services from across the region. I am pleased to note that ADIB cards have been consistently best rated at industry forums and continue to strengthen our customer offering and brand. We will continue to look for innovative ways to reward our clients and stay ahead of the field."
The new award builds on the ’Best Islamic Card in the Middle East’ award the ADIB Etihad Guest Visa Card received at the Banker Middle East Product Awards 2012. ADIB’s Darhoom Card was also named ’Best Prepaid Card’ earlier this year.
Peter Baumgartner, Chief Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways said: "We are thrilled to see our partnership with ADIB receive such recognition. As the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, it is hugely important that we embrace and serve our home market with tailored products and services. Aligning our efforts with a leading Islamic brand which our local guests recognize and appreciate allows us to better customize an offering to their needs. We have seen a significant increase in the number of cardholders over the last year, reflecting the high level of service of both, Etihad Airways and ADIB, as well as the attractive benefits and rewards of the card products."
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Etihad Airways partnered to launch ADIB-Etihad Guest Co-branded Card in 2010, to cater to the increased expectations of their customers, and to give them a more rewarding and convenient experience. The card provides free SMS transaction alert service and a 55-day grace period on repayments. Monthly repayments by non-account holders can be made conveniently via the ADIB network of 71 branches as well as through Al-Ansari exchange, Al Fardan exchange, and UAE exchange outlets in the UAE.
