Abu Dhabi is gearing up to host ‘Itijah 2012’ from 23 – 26 April, bringing together young leaders from seven cities across the Arab world and Europe to work together and develop innovative approaches and solutions for current social challenges.
Scheduled to place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC), Itijah 2012 is organized jointly by the UAE-based Emirates Foundation and the UK-founded Common Purpose. Abu Dhabi holds the distinction of being the first city in the Middle East to host the event. The UAE capital’s pioneering initiative validates its vision to empower the youth in the region to play more collaborative roles in nation building.
The emerging leaders have been selected from Abu Dhabi, Budapest, Istanbul, Alexandria, Benghazi, Manchester, and Amman. As part of the four-day agenda, participants will explore themes of leadership, innovation, managing change and collaboration across multi-sectors. Following their deliberations at Itijah 2012, the young leaders will continue to work up some of their ideas to produce a report that can be presented to policy makers, journalists and academics.
Itijah 2012 is organized in collaboration with Shell, Etihad Airways, Cisco, Oracle, Newman’s Own Foundation, PwC, and DLA Piper.
