Abu Dhabi University And Envirozone Middle East Partner To Provide Scientific Research On Environmental Safety In The UAE

Aiming to provide scientific research, training & professional consultation on environmental safety, Abu Dhabi University (ADU) and Envirozone Middle East have signed a four-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will include establishing analytical laboratory for analyzing samples of water, soil and air.

The MoU was signed byMr. MajidBizzari, Managing Director of Envirozone Middle East, and Dr. Terry Motiuk, Vice Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. James MacKin, Provost;Prof. Dr. Abdel-Mohsen Onsy Mohamed, Dean of College of Research and Graduate Studies;and group of officials from both the University and the Envirozone.

The MoU will focus on advanced technological development; improved working environments for professionals; improved expertise of university researchers and the development of scientific skills. Among the objectives of the MoUis the exchange of knowledge in the form of visiting of scientific experts from either party; education and training programs for senior undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as the organization of scientific conferences, workshops and specialized seminars on the latest scientific developments related to environmental safety.

Mr. MajidBizzari, Managing Director of Envirozone Middle Eastsaid that this cooperation with Abu Dhabi University represents a milestone for scientific communication and exchange of scientific & research expertise between the two organizations. He added that the establishment of strategic cooperative relations will provide professors and students direct access and resources available at Envirozone.

Dr. Motiuksaid,“this agreement is in line with the strategicvision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; Chairman of the Red Crescent, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ADU, which callsfor the achievement of constructive interaction with all institutions and business sectors in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to achieve prosperity for both the university and the community.”

He added that the partnership will strengthen both organizations’ contribution towards creating generations of graduates and postgraduates with the requisite skills to effectively create sustainable environment for the UAE. Meanwhile, Dr. Mackin said that the agreement focuses not only on improving the university’s scientific research but also on achieving societal benefits to the community.

Dr. Abdel-Mohsen added that the university is no longer limited to satisfyingjust the academic needs of the UAE but seeks to open up to industrial enterprises and services such as Envirozone. The MoU allows the university to contribute to the development of appropriate solutions that comply with the conditions of the local communities and environment.

ADU is keen to uphold scientific research by supporting interdisciplinary research to achieve comprehensive and integrated studies and analyses, as well as recognize the importance of developing the role of students in scientific research through training.
