Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) today announced its continued support of the Abu Dhabi Festival 2011 presented by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation and held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Abu Dhabi Festival is an annual celebration of the growth and expansion of the capital as a global beacon of culture and the arts. Drawing together a programme of the very best talent from around the world, the Festival seamlessly combines a multitude of art-forms, and aims to explore the Emirates’ artistic and cultural heritage and traditions.
Part of Mubadala’s commitment to the Festival includes the ‘Back to School with Mubadala’ project, an education initiative that will take visiting performers into schools and community centres across Abu Dhabi. Theproject aims to inspire the next generation of talent through an engaging series of mini-performances, workshops and master-classes.

Mubadala will also present ‘Paper Fashion’, a lecture event with acclaimed Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave, a specialist in the intricate craft of creating traditional dresses in paper form. Paper Fashion aims to raise awareness of this art form and present the opportunity to people from across the Emirates to interact with pioneering artists in their fields.
