Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer of tourism, cultural and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi launched a sporting tournament at Saadiyat Island Construction Village among TDIC employees and construction workers who live on the island.

The participants, chosen for their passion for sport, battled it out over the course of the full day’s activities, which included chess, pool and table tennis. The construction workers proved their might – skillfully and strategically – as they were victorious in all three sporting events. Dante Adame, a finishing carpenter, won the chess championship; while Abbas Reza, a construction material laboratory supervisor, triumphed in the pool tournament; and T. Krishna Rajak, a catering supervisor, secured first place in table tennis.

The tournament is part of a series of initiatives taking place at Saadiyat Island Construction Village, including writing workshops and art competitions, aimed at enriching the lives of the workers and encouraging them to take full advantage of the facilities available to them within this vibrant living community.
