Etihad Airways Distributes Eid Gifts To Children In Pakistan Relief Camps
(15 September 2010)

As part of its relief efforts in Pakistan, Etihad Airways in union with Emirates International Mobile Humanitarian Hospital for Children (EIMHH) has distributed Eid gift packs to children living in the Razzakabad relief camp in Karachi, Pakistan.

EIMHH Doctors, nurses, security guards and Etihad staff worked side by side to deliver over 1000 Eid gift packages filled with toys and other relief items to the displaced children of the Razzakabad camp.

Amer Khan, Etihad Airways Country Manager in Pakistan, said: “While we remain focused on providing air support for the Pakistan authorities and relief agencies, it was easy to forget that the holy day of Eid had arrived for the majority of Muslims living in the relief camps. With these gift packages, we simply wanted to remind the children of the Razzakabad relief camp that they were not forgotten.

“We thank the Emirates International Mobile Humanitarian Hospital for their support and guidance and commend them on their ongoing efforts to support the people of Pakistan.”

Etihad has been working closely with the Pakistan authorities to transfer medical supplies and humanitarian aid to the country. Last month, Etihad launched its inaugural flight of its A330-200 freighter aircraft to Pakistan, filled with relief supplies.

The EMIMH continues to support the flood victims with its focus on the prevention and treatment of children diseases. The mobile, elaborate medical facility travels through the Sindh region offering free medical care, ICU, diagnostics, pharmacy and other services by engaging Doctors and staff from Canada, France, UAE and Pakistan, Syria and the Philippines.
