Abu Dhabi community recognised the Emirates Palace as the Best Hotel and its Gallery One as Best Gallery/Museum in the Best in Abu Dhabi Awards 2010.

The award-giving ceremony took place at The Yas Island Rotana.

The Best In Abu Dhabi Awards is a new initiative aimed at recognising the Capital’s best in Hospitality, Culture, Social and Future developments.

The two latest honours followed the Hotel’s scooping seven of the most coveted accolades of this year’s prestigious World Travel Awards and joining the Expedia Insiders’ Select List, a leading online travel agency, as One of the World’s Best Hotels.

The Best in Abu Dhabi provides members of Abu Dhabi community with a chance to celebrate everything they love about living in Abu Dhabi from favourite places to eat, rest and play.

The Abu Dhabi’s iconic property won the awards via an online nominations, and popular voting. These are the people’s choice awards for the best in the country’s capital.

Emirates Palace General Manager, Hans Olbertz, said "These two titles have special significance to us as they are inspired by the people’s choice for the best in country’s capital.

’’A judgment of Abu Dhabi’s resident is no doubt a vote of confidence in out hotel and a valuable reward for us,’’ he added.

Organisers say the city has some of the world’s best hotels, malls and restaurants, but there is no way to judge the most popular. However, we want to know. We want to know where you like to go and what you like to do. It is the best way to reward the establishments and organizations that make living in this city so enjoyable.
