Organizers of the Arabian Construction Week (ACW), the region’s international construction exhibition, today announced the inaugural Future Build Middle East exhibition, the first dedicated single-sourcing platform for the latest technology and innovative construction projects, will feature new products, concepts and practices in sustainability.
To be held from 24-26 May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), ACW 2010 will incorporate three dedicated vertical trade exhibitions on sustainability, innovation and infrastructure, as well as two regional summits. The exhibitions – Future-Build Middle East, Green Building Middle East, and Civil Engineering Middle East – will cover over 8,000 sq metre area at the event.
Focusing on world-changing technologies and product debuts in the building and construction sectors, Future Build Middle East will bring together leading architects, construction companies, contractors, developers, interior designers, facilities management professionals, surveyors and clients interested in the design and fit-out of construction projects.
Chris Hudson, Managing Director of Mecom Forums, and Partner of Clarion Events, said: “With the constantly changing market dynamics, we aim to make sure that products designed to reduce costs, maximize efficiency and meet the demand of future build environment are readily available in this market.
“Future Build Middle East will set the stage for premier companies to launch new building materials, solutions and concepts in the US$500 billion regional construction market. It will be a perfect platform for industry leaders to exchange innovative ideas and products, while offering new opportunities to key clientele.”
Future Build Middle East is designed to serve as a platform for suppliers to showcase the latest technology and solutions that will be sourced for the internal and external building envelope by existing and future projects being created within the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. The expanding opportunities are expected to translate into a vast array of multi-billion dollar development projects, new cities, malls, hotels, business complexes, schools and hospitals.
Hannes Waimer, Managing Director, Premier Composite Technologies, UAE, said: “As architects looking to design ever larger, more dramatic and complex structures for buildings in the UAE, advanced composite materials are increasingly becoming the construction products of choice.
“Today, we are witnessing a growing demand for the use of our composites in not only secondary but primary structures such as large span cladding systems and roofs. For these large scale constructions, the considerable cost and weight saving benefits are much more pronounced as is the architectural freedom that advanced composites provide. In the future, we do not think it will be long before we start constructing entire buildings solely with composite structures.”
From concept, design, implementation and build engineering, Future Build Middle East will offer live product demonstrations, informal meeting and networking opportunities and a choice to compare the very best suppliers.
Nader Elhajj, Director of Operations, FrameCad Middle East and Africa, said: “We see demand for affordable and durable buildings to increase substantially in the UAE as well as in other GCC countries where most of the population is still young and are demanding newer housing units that incorporate sustainable and green building materials.
“Most advanced countries have recognized the benefits of light gauge steel and are aggressively integrating its use. The GCC region, on its part, is also increasingly adopting these products. In the past five years, there has been tremendous growth in the light gauge steel construction market and we anticipate this growth to continue.”
Future Build Middle East will also feature a wide range of technologies from the construction sector and help future sustainable development through its involvement in airports, bridges, buildings, coastal and harbours, environment, recycling, flood defence management, geotechnics, housing, power and energy, railways, regional development, retail, structures, transport, tunnelling, water and government sectors.
Organised by MECOM Forums/Clarion Events in partnership with MEED, Arabian Construction Week (ACW) will act as a pre-tender sourcing platform for the region’s existing and potential construction and infrastructure projects. It will also aim to work towards a better-built environment for the cities of today and the future.
