Etihad Airways Flight Disruptions Update
(16 April 2010)

Etihad Airways has cancelled flights to the UK, Ireland and some European destinations today and throughout the weekend, due to the closure of airports in the region following the spread of volcanic ash.

Etihad Airways encourages passengers with travel plans to the region to contact their local Etihad office or the airline’s dedicated customer assistance lines.

Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan said: "We regret the inconvenience to our customers caused by these cancellations, however we continue to comply fully with the UK and European authorities during these closures, and will not operate services to any area that may present a safety risk."

Services most affected include flights to and from London Heathrow, Manchester, Frankfurt, Brussels and Paris. In some destinations on the Etihad network, passengers holding tickets to these final destinations will be uplifted to Abu Dhabi, where they will be accommodated on later flights to the region. Alternatively, customers can rebook flights to the region for services from Monday 19 April, or those customers who choose not to travel will receive a full refund*.

Customers in the UAE with any queries about Etihad flights can contact the airline on the toll free number, 800 550 55.

Customers in the UK can contact the airline on its toll free number, 0800 917 7521.

Customers in other overseas locations can contact their local office or +971 25 990 900.

*Terms and conditions apply for rebooking and refunds.
