The Middle East looks set to raise the bar on research and development (R&D) at this year’s ADIPEC (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference) with over 50 percent of abstract submissions being home grown, and the total number having tripled since 2008.
There has been a record number of abstracts so far from 33 countries, including Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE raising the numbers in the Middle East, with the UK, USA, Pakistan and China internationally. The closing date is not until 1 April, but the commitment to producing unique and forward thinking research from Middle Eastern based companies is proving strong. As ADIPEC 2010 gets set to host the international oil and industry in Abu Dhabi in November, the region further strengthens its position as a thought leader for the industry and ADIPEC 2010 as the must attend event.
Bringing together key players from the global energy sectors, the ADIPEC 2010 Conference, organised in conjunction with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), will see the sharing of new and innovative solutions within the Sub-Surface, Surface and Vision categories.
Hifazat Ahmad, event director of ADIPEC 2010, said: “The number and standard of abstracts received this year has certainly been raised significantly from 2008 and it is fantastic to see that entries from the Middle East account for over 50 percent of the total. The region continues to set itself apart as the influence of the oil and gas industry here grows globally. People are looking to the Middle East for answers and ADIPEC provides the ideal international forum for these to be presented.”
Abstracts can be submitted either online at www.spe.org/go/adipec/cfp or via email to formsdubai@spe.org, and must specify at least one primary category relevant to the paper topic. Organised by dmg world media, ADIPEC 2010 will take place at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 1-4 November, for further information please visit www.adipec.com.
