Planet One’s University Of Stirling (RAK) Enters New Phase Of Growth With New 3,000-Student Campus
(25 August 2026)

The University of Stirling Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) is entering a new phase of expansion as it prepares to move to a larger, state-of-the-art campus in the centre of RAK, with capacity for approximately 3,000 students. The campus is owned and operated by Planet One, founded and owned by Mr. Sanjeev Mansotra.

His Excellency Dr. Tayeb Kamali will support this phase of growth as Chairman of the Board of the University, bringing more than 35 years of leadership experience across higher education and the public sector. Notably, Dr. Kamali previously served as Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology.

As Chairman, Dr. Kamali will partner with the board members to help steer the university's long-term strategic direction, deliver governance oversight, recommend academic programs, and foster connections between the campus and industry partners. Alongside Dr. Kamali, Mr. Sanjeev Mansotra, Founder and Chairman of Planet One Group, will serve as Vice Chair of the Board, playing a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s policies and strategic initiatives.

Set to be operational in Q1 of 2027, the new campus will feature expanded academic spaces, modern teaching areas, and specialized laboratory facilities with a sharp focus on artificial intelligence, data science, technology, and other future-facing disciplines. The campus directly supports the UAE’s broader ambition to develop advanced skills, future-ready talent and a knowledge-based economy.

His Excellency Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Chairman of the Board, University of Stirling (Ras Al Khaimah), said: “Ras Al Khaimah is continuing to strengthen its position as a destination for high-quality international education, reflecting the UAE’s wider commitment to developing the talent and capabilities required for a knowledge-driven economy. The expansion of the Planet One’s University of Stirling (Ras Al Khaimah) Campus is part of that progress, creating greater access to internationally recognised education while increasing the focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, data science and technology. I am proud to be part of the next chapter in the university’s story and to support its continued contribution to the next generation of talent and to the UAE’s long-term growth and competitiveness. As a group, Planet One’s education initiatives across the globe have been commendable over the last decade and half. I look forward to being a part of the wider vision Mr. Sanjeev Mansotra has for global education.”

Sanjeev Mansotra, Founder and Chairman of Planet One Group, said: “Dr. Kamali has played an important role in the development of higher education in the UAE, and his experience and perspective will be invaluable as we embark on this next phase of the University’s growth in Ras Al Khaimah. Our group has constantly strived to be one of the leading higher education players in UAE and the new 3,000-student campus represents a major investment in the future of our education initiatives in the Emirate, giving us the capacity to grow our academic community, while investing in the facilities, programmes and future-focused skills that students increasingly need.”

Launched in September 2018 through a partnership between Planet One Group (via Planet One International Education) and the University of Stirling, the UAE international campus delivers world-class education in Ras Al Khaimah. The campus has an internationally diverse student body, attracting students from across the GCC, India, the CIS and Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania and Senegal. The university ranks among the top 500 globally in the QS World University Rankings, and its premier business programs hold prestigious AACSB accreditation. Students benefit from diverse coursework across natural sciences, technology, management, accounting, and finance.

To seamlessly connect academic learning with real-world applications, the university collaborates with tech giants like Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Oracle, and MongoDB. An upcoming campus expansion will further enhance this hands-on approach by adding advanced specialist laboratories and greater capacity for technology-enabled learning.
