In Line With Abu Dhabi’s Vision To Empower Youth And Provide Opportunities To Achieve Excellence
(22 February 2021)

A moving new video series that captures the talents of exceptional Abu Dhabi youth, from carpenters to conductors and scientists to solo artists, is being launched to showcase homegrown success stories and inspire more young people to reach their potential in the emirate.

'Abu Dhabi Youth', a collaboration between Abu Dhabi Government Media Office and Abu Dhabi Youth Council, with Abu Dhabi Media, explores the personal stories of high-achieving Emiratis aged 18-39, across a range of industries and professions, from entrepreneurs to scientists and world record-breakers.

The videos will be shown on Abu Dhabi Story Instagram page, on Abu Dhabi TV and Emarat TV and on Abu Dhabi Media website. The first season starts 22 February.

Her Excellency Maryam Eid Al Mheiri, Director General of ADGMO, said: "Emirati youth have proven that their ambition has no limits, and we want to showcase their success stories to the world, and inspire more young people to achieve their potential in Abu Dhabi.

"This series will document the successes of our youth over the coming years and I hope it inspires the next generation to aim for their best, in whichever field they are passionate."

The first season features Amani Al Hosani, the first nuclear engineer in the UAE; entrepreneur Saif Al-Romaithi, who explains how he has built more than 30 companies; and Farah Al Qaissieh, the founder of Stutter UAE, a support platform for stutterers.

Each episode delves into the young person's motivation and passion to succeed, and includes advice on self-motivation and how to achieve success, to inspire fellow Emirati youth to strive for excellence and to encourage social participation.

Abdul Rahim Al-Bateeh Al-Nuaimi, Acting General Manager of ADMC, said: "We are committed to supporting national initiatives that enhance the capabilities of our youth and enable them to achieve excellence. This aligns with our leadership's vision and the nation's strategy for developing UAE youth. The 'Youth from Abu Dhabi' series is part of Abu Dhabi TV's community-focused programmes, which aim to motivate the nation's youth to develop their skills and talent, and is aligned with our strategy to deliver innovative, audience-centric content with an enhanced and expanding digital offer."

Mariam Abdullah Al Mehyas, President of ADYC, said: "The launch of 'Abu Dhabi Youth' implements the leadership's directives in investing in youth development, and empowers and encourages young Emirati people to pursue excellence, success, and constant giving in the service of the country.

"The 'Abu Dhabi Youth' series provides an opportunity to highlight influential Emirati youth stories, to motivate them to develop capabilities and talents, and to enhance social participation. We seek to contribute to reaching this large demographic, to refine their skills and invest their energies in the right direction."

Aisha Yousef Al-Ali, a member of ADYC and Director of 'Abu Dhabi Youth', said the leadership's vision, with unlimited support, was the biggest catalyst for youth to serve their country and develop their skills and talents.
