The Global Conference of Human Fraternity opened today at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Organised by the Muslim Council of Elders, the conference is being held with the participation of leaders, thinkers and representatives of various religions, and aims to highlight the critical importance of the principle of fraternity and peaceful coexistence.

The conference, which coincides with the historic visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, and His Eminence Dr. Ahmad el-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar Al Sharif, seeks to address intellectual extremism and its negative aspects, and contribute to the reconstruction of bridges of communication, harmony and respect, as well as to meet the challenges that face humanity to attain security, stability, peace and coexistence.
