Abu Dhabi-Based World Muslim Communities Council Conference On Promoting Role Of Women Concludes In Nepal

An international conference organised by Abu Dhabi-based World Muslim Communities Council, WMCC, titled, "Roles of women for the inclusive development of Nepal' concluded today in Kathmandu.

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the WMCC, stated that the UAE’s cultural pluralism is a source of power of its community while stressing that the UAE’s message is to promote the role of women around the world, to enable them to contribute to the development process.

During the conference, Dr. Al Nuaimi said, "We are proud of the UAE’s experience in women’s empowerment, and we see the outcomes in the country’s development process."

He added that the conference was organised in light of the UAE’s keenness to share, with the world, its successes in various areas, including in women’s empowerment while praising the considerable turnout and participation in the conference in Nepal, which was attended by the Nepalese vice president.

He also pointed out that the conference stressed the importance of investing in education and promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue, as well as overall women’s empowerment.

On the second day of the conference, Dr. Al Nuaimi attended a workshop on improving the participation of women in sustainable development.

A delegation from the council, which included Dr. Mohammed Bashari, Secretary-General, and several officials visited the Central Mosque and the Islamic School in Kathmandu, in the presence of Saeed Hamdan Al Naqbi, UAE Ambassador to Nepal.

WMCC is based in Abu Dhabi and includes 60 members. Its general secretariat comprises 17 members representing Muslim communities in non-Muslim countries.
