Visitors Enjoy Traditional Emirati Experiences at My Heritage, My Responsibility Series at Al Ain Palace Museum

As part of Al Ain Cultural Programme organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the My Heritage, My Responsibility series returned to Al Ain Palace Museum on 7 and 8 December for the second consecutive year. 

Featuring an array of events and activities, this edition of the programme focused on the variety of traditional performances typical to the different regions of the UAE, by presenting audiences to traditional performances such as Al Leywa, Nadba, Aazi, and Alruwah. 

The programme included 4 educational workshops for children, where the “Record It” workshop enabled young participants to best describe the carried out traditional performances on recording devices; the “Decoupage” workshop explored their young talents in creating artworks inspired by the traditional dances; children also enjoyed making their own drumming instrument in the “Create Your Drum” workshop, and joined each other in creating harmonious rhythmus during the “Drumming” workshop. 

Visitors enjoyed a variety of cultural activities, from folk-dance performances, to traditional market kiosks featuring Emirati dishes, in addition to educational workshops that gave them a glimpse into the history of traditional performing arts.
