Andy Murray, the current World No. 1, 3-time Grand Slam Champion and double Olympic Gold-medalist, and Rafael Nadal, the 14-time Grand Slam and defending champion, have arrived in the UAE capital to participate in the three-day Mubadala World Tennis Championship.
Other players in this year’s 6-player line up are , heavy-hitting Canadian World No. 3 Milos Raonic, and 12-time ATP Tour winner Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
The event will also see the return of Belgian No.1 and debutant David Goffin, as well as 2-time Davis Cup Champion Tomas Berdych.
The world’s best are competing for the Championship title and a winner-takes-all prize money of US$ 250,000.
In 2009, Murray won the inaugural tournament in Abu Dhabi defeating James Blake, Roger Federer, and then-World No. 1 Nadal in the final.
He won the event again in 2015.
