Reed Exhibitions Middle East today announced that Equip’Hotel Middle East (EHME), Reed’s key hospitality trade show in the region, has received impressive response to its upcoming second edition from exhibitors keen to leverage the growth in Abu Dhabi’s hospitality sector. Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), recently announced that the UAE capital will see an addition of between 4,000 to 5,000 new hotel rooms by the end of 2009. The Authority has set a target of 25,000 hotel rooms in the emirate and 2.7 million international arrivals by 2012. Despite the prevailing global economic challenges, ADTA has confirmed that all tourism-related projects that have been announced in Abu Dhabi, are going ahead as planned. A range of local and international exhibitors have already signed up to participate in the 2009 edition of EHME, which takes place November 9-11 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) EHME 2009 (www.equiphotelme.com) is organised by Reed Exhibitions Middle East with the support of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH), one of the UAE capital’s leading hospitality groups. “Over 74% of EHME 08 exhibitors including providers of products and solutions to the hotel, restaurant, café and catering industries from the UAE, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, Oman and Lebanon have already confirmed their participation in EHME 2009,” said Naji El Haddad, Show Manager, Equip Hotel Middle East. The 2009 edition of EHME will primarily focus on three dedicated sectors – Hotels & Resorts; Restaurants & Cafés; and Pool & Spa. In addition, the EHME 2009 Conference will highlight the latest industry trends and developments. EHME builds on a successful inaugural edition held in December 2008, which saw the attendance of key decision-makers from across the Middle East at the three-day hospitality fair. The last edition was the first regional edition of Equip’Hotel Paris, a well-established and leading international hospitality show that primarily targets the European market. Over 141 exhibitors from 18 countries including Canada, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon, Oman, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, US and the UAE took part at EHME 2008. France and Germany were represented via country pavilions. “We were very pleased with the level of participation at last year’s debut edition. The excellent response underlined the need for a sophisticated event that caters to all sectors of the hospitality industry in the region. We are proud to have provided this platform to the growing hospitality sector in Abu Dhabi in particular,” said Haddad. EHME exhibitors will include companies displaying Furniture & Design, Building Layout & Fittings, Laundry, Hygiene & Cleaning, Bathroom, Technologies, Sounds & Lights, Linen, Professional wear, Guest Amenities, Kitchen Equipments, Coffee making machines, Bar equipments, Restaurants concepts, Tableware. Pool & spa design, building, equipment & maintenance, Outdoor furniture, Pool lighting & Landscaping and Fitness. Visitors at the show include buyers from international hotel groups, officials managing hotel apartments and tourist facilities, restaurant and catering operators, chefs, distributors, importers, wholesalers, educational institutions, government authorities, investors, promoters, developers, design and planning consultants, architects and interior decorators.
