The Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer of major tourism, cultural and residential destinations in Abu Dhabi, announced today at Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2016, the annual real-estate event, its launch of the Saadiyat Lagoons District. Located within minutes from Abu Dhabi city, the Lagoons District is a premium residential community which is expected to become home to 29,000 residents across more than 4,000 residential units. The 6 million square-metre, mixed-use development will feature contemporary townhouses, villas and apartments that offer access to neighbourhood shops, F&B outlets, children’s play areas, mosques and leisure facilities such as a state-of-the-art equestrian centre. His Excellency Ali Majed Al Mansoori, TDIC’s Chairman of the Board, said: “We are pleased to announce today the launch of the largest district on Saadiyat. Saadiyat Lagoons District is set to be a vibrant destination for both residents and visitors, which offers a unique lifestyle experience along with proximity to the island’s other districts and their rich leisure, education and cultural offerings. We are confident that this development will raise interest in Saadiyat even further while strengthening its position as a leading destination across all sectors.” The Saadiyat Lagoons District will be developed in phases with the first phase including 820 townhouses set in a gated community. The townhouses will make up 236 two-bedroom units and 584 three-bedroom units featuring a contemporary style. Homeowners will also have access to a range of community facilities, including a dedicated retail venue, and access to a neighbourhood lake. Out of the 820 townhouses, only 246 units will be made available for sale after Cityscape Abu Dhabi. Investors are welcome to register their interest during Cityscape Abu Dhabi for more information on the sales launch. The Saadiyat Lagoons District has been designed to encourage active lifestyles, with walking and cycling paths located throughout the district and horse-riding trails set alongside the area’s mangrove lagoons. Future residents and visitors will enjoy the rich gardens and parks, as well as lush open spaces and a central lagoon located across 2.4 million square metres of open space. Along with diverse leisure elements, the district will also include two lifestyle and retail destinations: a town centre, which overlooks a central lagoon and linear park, and a waterfront village, located close to the water’s edge and easily accessible by the district’s various paths. Residents will also be able to take advantage of living in proximity to Saadiyat’s luxurious developments. These include international five-star resorts and hotels The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Spa, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, The Collection retail destination, and the Saadiyat Beach Club. Furthermore, the Saadiyat Cultural District – with its three world-class museums, and Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, the leading British-curriculum school – as well as the Saadiyat Marina District, currently home to New York University Abu Dhabi; are just a short distance away.
