Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) has marked the busiest month in its calendar of regional and international events in October 2015 when the region’s premier events venue hosted 41 scheduled events in a single month for the first time since inception.
This is 20% more than the monthly average of 34 events over the last 5 year period between 2011 and 2015. ADNEC’s previous highest number of events in a month was in October 2012 when the venue hosted 40 events.

As part of an intensive schedule of events, ADNEC hosted Arab Carpet Expo, the POWER-GEN Middle East 2015, Seatrade Offshore Marine & Workboats 2015, Mubadala Youth Forum 2015, Ecocity World Summit, the World Halal Travel Summit 2015, TAWEYA 2015, Breakbulk Middle East 2015, NATRANS Arabia, NAJAH career exhibition, International Real Estate and Investment Show 2015 (IREIS), and Arab Health Recruitment & Training Fair 2015. Of these, Breakbulk Middle East 2015, Arab Carpet Expo, NATRANS Arabia and World Halal Travel marked their debut editions this year.
The first event, Arab Carpet Expo, was held from 1 to 4 October and incorporated three collocated events: Arab Flooring Expo, Yarn & Fiber Expo, and the International Green Carpet & Flooring Conference 2015. Designed to transform Abu Dhabi into the regional hub of carpet and flooring industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), the expo provided an international platform for major players in the carpet and flooring segment of the construction industry to meet, network and share best practices with investors and buyers from the public and private sectors.
From 4 to 6 October, key decision makers, industry leaders, senior executives and professionals in the power industry from 69 countries across the MENA region and from around the world convened at ADNEC to attend the POWER-GEN Middle East 2015. The event offered up-to-date information on the latest technological developments in the power industry, while meeting the increasing demand for power triggered by the rapid industrial growth. The event also included the fourth edition of the Water World Middle East Conference and Exhibition that examined latest developments in water and wastewater technologies through a series of thought-provoking conference sessions.
Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre also hosted the 5th Seatrade Offshore Marine & Workboats from 5 to 7 October, 2015. The three-day exhibition and conference served as platform to network and do business in the offshore marine and workboats sectors. The region’s only platform dedicated to offshore marine and workboats sectors additionally presented a comprehensive conference programme. Headlined by the leading industry spokespeople and decision makers, the event explored a diverse array of topics such as marine and offshore and ship building technology, among others.
The annual Mubadala Youth Forum took place at ADNEC on 7 October, 2015. Created by Mubadala to raise awareness of the education and careers available to young Emiratis, the event witnessed prominent UAE national business leaders and professionals including engineers, pilots and photographers sharing their success stories with hundreds of university students. The panelists also advised aspiring professionals on best ways to chalk their career path and overcome challenges to fulfil their dreams.
From 11 to 13 October, the 2015 edition of Ecocity World Summit, the first and now the longest running conference for ecological city design, development and functioning in the world, convened at ADNEC. Drawing the participation over 1,000 delegates, the biennial global event tackled issues around building eco-cities in challenging environments. The platform also explored innovative ideas, designs, and policies on sustainable cities.
ADNEC also staged the World Halal Travel Summit from 19 to 21 October, 2015. The largest global gathering of tourism professional in the halal travel sector, the exhibition and conference offered in-depth knowledge to over 6,000 visitors and delegates aspiring to enter the fastest developing segment of global tourism.
TAWEYA 2015, held from 20 to 22 October at ADNEC, engaged UAE and resident families through promoting a culture of volunteering and supporting humanitarian services among them. The event provided organisations involved in volunteering, special needs care and humanitarian services a platform to showcase their services Government and private entities as well as welfare organisations highlighted their latest innovations and positive interventions in strengthening family unity, social solidarity and community partnership.
Breakbulk Middle East 2015 was another important event staged by ADNEC from 25 to 28 October. The event converged top decision makers in oil & gas, electricity, water, renewable energy, infrastructure projects alongside the logistics providers who are key to the success of today’s megaprojects. The event comprised the invitation-only membership programme VIP Club for executives of cargo firms and engineering, procurement and construction management. It also hosted the Executive Conference Programme that brought together the top echelon of logistics decision makers from both buy and supply sides.
From 25 to 27 October, NATRANS Arabia, the region's most important exhibition dedicated to rail, road and maritime industry in the GCC, took centre-stage at ADNEC. Supported by the UAE Federal Transport Authority, the event included the NATRANS Conference that had three dedicated streams on Rail, Road and Maritime.
ADNEC also hosted the NAJAH exhibition, the largest education exhibition for local and international universities and training institutions from 27 to 29 October. The event served as an ideal platform for public and private organisations to recruit qualified UAE nationals from leading universities and training institutes.
International Real Estate and Investment Show 2015 (IREIS), on the other hand, converged at ADNEC from 29 to 31 October. The only real estate event in Abu Dhabi targeting investors and consumers rather than trade visitors, the event brought together developers, real estate brokers, private and institutional investors from the Middle East, Europe and the Asia Pacific regions. Additionally, distinguished speakers participating in the international conference programme offered valuable insight into market trends as well as best investment options.
ADNEC wrapped up the busy October month with Arab Health Recruitment & Training Fair 2015, which ran from 31 October to 1 November. Targeting those looking for a new career in the healthcare industry, the Arab Health Training and Recruitment Fair converged recruitment professionals from the region’s leading hospitals, clinics, suppliers and service providers, as well as aspiring professionals seeking both medical and non-medical openings.
