Capital Investment (CI) in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Financial Group (ADFG), have officially opened, The Capital Plaza, the largest mixed-use real estate development in Montenegro. Located in the heart of Podgorica, Montenegro’s capital city, The Capital Plaza, occupying over one million square feet of prime retail, business, hospitality and residential space, is a landmark development in this Eastern European nation.
In the presence of a large number of high-ranking officials, dignitaries and diplomats, the ribbon cutting ceremony honours were undertaken by His Excellency Milo Djukanovic, Prime Minister of Montenegro, Her Excellency Hafsa Al Ulama, UAE Ambassador to Montenegro, His Excellency AbdulHamid Saeed, Chairman of Capital Investment, and Jassim Alseddiqi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Financial Group.
In addition, Capital Investment and ADFG used the official launch event to announce that it has selected H Hotel, a prestigious, international luxury hotel brand, to operate the 139- room hotel located at The Capital Plaza.
In his address at the opening event, Montenegro’s Prime Minister praised the UAE investors’ “commitment to the nation” before expounding on how the collaboration between ADFG and Capital Investment would “provide long-term benefits to the region and its people”. HE Hafsa Al Ulama said that The Capital Plaza was a “symbol of hardwork, dedication and commitment of the UAE being part of Montenegro’s development”. She added, “The UAE through its investors and partners would like to send a message of friendship to Montenegro and to reiterate its commitment to strengthening its relations with this beautiful country.”
Jassim Alseddiqi, CEO of ADFG, said: “Located in the heart of dynamic Podgorica, The Capital Plaza, with its striking architecture, cutting-edge technology and quality fit-out, is a key destination for businesses, residents and tourists from all over the world. Furthermore, the H Hotel will provide the ideal hotel operator brand to augment the building’s status as an iconic landmark for Montenegro.”
