ADNEC To Transform Into Book Lovers’ Paradise At Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2015
(4 May 2015)

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) is set to host the 25th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) from 7 to 13 May, attracting more than 500,000 titles and 1,181 exhibitors from over 63 countries.

Annually, ADIBF seeks to transform the publishing industry in the MENA region through offering an ideal literary platform for book lovers, booksellers, publishers, distributors and industry professionals.

As a key highlight of its silver jubilee edition, ADIBF 2015 will host a series of talks, exhibitions and poetry readings that celebrate the UAE founding father late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as Focus Personality of the Year.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Acting Group CEO at ADNEC said: “ADNEC is pleased to welcome back this important annual event on the Abu Dhabi calendar, which renews our engagement with the written word. Over the years, ADNEC has played a collaborative role in supporting and promoting ADIBF, and in shaping the event into the fastest growing book fair in the Middle East and North Africa. At ADNEC, we have committed significant resources to ensure the continued success of such mega annual events and support the growth of the emirate as a leading business tourism destination.”

“The team ADNEC is honoured to contribute to the success of this important cultural event through providing all kinds of support that will ensure uninterrupted visitor flow across the exhibition venues. We are all geared up to welcome writers, intellectuals, thought leaders and publishers who will be sharing their thoughts and perspectives on contemporary cultural and literary issues.”

“ADIBF assumes special significance for ADNEC due to its important role in promoting knowledge and wisdom and encouraging students from universities and various educational institutions to visit the event and set out on a journey into the world of culture and letters,” Al Dhaheri added.

To the convenience of exhibition visitors, ADNEC has provided 6,000 parking spaces and several restaurants and cafes that open around the clock. Additionally, the venue includes branches of National Bank of Abu Dhabi and the Department of Economic Development, a number of ATMs, flower arrangement service as well as an emergency and first aid unit that provides basic medical care in emergency cases.

The 2015 event will feature diverse programming with seminars, panel discussions and sessions spotlighting the current state of publishing in the Arab world and the Middle East region.

Notably, the event will include dedicated areas delivering extensive Cultural and Professional programmes which also includes an innovative Spotlight on Rights initiative that serves as a forum for business and contract negotiations. While the eZone and Service Providers Area showcase new technology and digital content, the Illustrators’ Corner will provide exhibitors with a venue to introduce their work to professionals from the book industry.

ADNEC offers 133,000 sq m of inter-connected floor space to match the expectations of a wide variety of events and exhibitions. Equipped with modern facilities and built to international standards, the venue attracted 1.6 million people across 327 events in 2014.
