One of the highlights of this year’s Abu Dhabi Food Festival, organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), and running emirate-wide from February 5th-21st, will be the new Emirati Kitchen, showcasing some of the country’s best Emirati chefs and tastiest cuisine. Emirati Kitchen, which is being held from February 5th-7th at the East Plaza, Abu Dhabi Corniche, will provide a forum to celebrate authentic dishes of the United Arab Emirates and encourage the community and visitors alike to come together in appreciation of fine food. Some of the country’s most noted chefs will make appearances, demonstrating how to make traditional Emirati dishes and recipes, and offering visitors a true taste of Emirati culture. “Emirati Kitchen is a brand new event for this year’s food festival and we see it as an excellent way of preserving Emirati customs and traditions as food is a vital part of the UAE’s culture. Introducing this element will help educate and entertain visitors to the event about local culture and traditions,” said Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director Tourism, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi). Master class workshop sessions will be held by the chefs with guests able to create a traditional Emirati dish under expert guidance and supervision. Chef Khulood Atiq, the country’s first and only female celebrity chef will open the event on Thursday 5th at the East Plaza and be on hand to offer advice and demonstrations over all three days.
