Etihad Airways Works To Restore Flight Schedule Following Fog Disruptions
(5 January 2015)

Etihad Airways today announced that its teams across its global network are working around the clock to restore the airline's flight schedule to normal following Saturday's severe fog disruption which had a major impact on operations into and out of its Abu Dhabi hub.

In a statement, the airline said that the restructuring of operations has eased aircraft congestion at Abu Dhabi Airport, and allowed disrupted flights to operate.

"Etihad Airways apologises to its passengers for the inconvenience that this major disruption has caused and thanks them for their patience during these extremely challenging few days," the statement said.
The company also said that additional Etihad Airways staff members were brought in to continue assisting passengers at Abu Dhabi Airport and at local hotels where disrupted passengers have been accommodated.

During the past 24 hours, the airline has booked disrupted passengers into more than 2,000 hotel rooms in the city.
Passengers still due to fly to, from, or through Abu Dhabi, up to and including Tuesday, January 6th, are still encouraged to rebook their flights through Etihad Airways' global contact centres, details of which can be found at etihad.com/contacts.

The statement went on to say that Etihad Airways will waive normal cancellation and refund fees during this period.
Passengers can call the Etihad Airways Contact Centre on +971 (0) 2 599 0000 or visit etihad.com/flightstatus for more information on the status of flights.
