Senior Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) officials and senior executives from MCI, the global meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) organisation, met to co-develop strategies that support the growth of Abu Dhabi as a global destination for the world’s leading MICE industry events.
The meeting took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, between Humaid Al Dhaheri – Acting Group Chief Executive of ADNEC with Roger Tondeur, Chairman and President of the MCI Group worldwide.
The meeting supports ADNEC mandate, to position Abu Dhabi as a world class hub for large-scale events and conferences. Further to this, ADNEC has forged existing relationships with government offices such as the Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau – a government body mandated to support Abu Dhabi in the bidding process for large-scale congress events.
“We recognise the importance of leveraging strong stakeholder relationships across government and private sector both in Abu Dhabi and across the world,” said Acting Group CEO Humaid Al Dhaheri.
“Meeting and exploring the opportunities with MCI to further strengthen Abu Dhabi’s value proposition on a global level fits with our strategic objective, to drive economic diversification in the UAE capital through business tourism. MCI is a reputed organisation, with great insight and reach across the industry. We look to a robust and successful working partnership with them.”
MCI is a globally integrated association, communication and event management company, with operations in Abu Dhabi that specialises in meetings and events, and professional congress organisation.
Roger Tondeur, Chairman and President of the MCI Group worldwide said: “ADNEC is a key pillar of business tourism in Abu Dhabi and a global player within the MICE industry. Our existing partnership and work to create new strategies allows both parties to co-innovate in the pursuit of Abu Dhabi’s mission to become a world leading business tourism destination.”
