A UAE-based caviar and sturgeon meat producer will launch its brand new range of Emirati caviar products and fish sturgeon fillets at SIAL Middle East, the fastest growing food and drink trade exhibition, opening tomorrow (24 November).
Held in strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA), SIAL Middle East 2013 is co-located with International Travel Catering Association (ITCA) Abu Dhabi, and the Emirates International Date Palm Festival.
Based in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Aquatech operates the world’s largest and one of the most technologically advanced indoor recirculating sturgeon and caviar farms, covering an area of approximately 56,000 square metres.
At full production capacity, the five-star is capable of producing 35 tons of caviar and almost 1,000 tons of sturgeon meat, and breeds hundreds of thousands of Siberian Sturgeon – officially protected by the UN Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
Emirates Aquatech will showcase its latest range of luxury caviar and sturgeon food products at SIAL Middle East, taking place from 24-26 November at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The three-day event is supported by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, Abu Dhabi Chamber, UNIDO, Bakery Initiatives, Headline Sponsor ALDAHRA Agriculture, Diamond Sponsor Jenaan, and Platinium Sponsor Agthia.
Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Board member and General Manager at Emirates Aquatech UAE said: “SIAL Middle East is one of the leading food and beverage exhibitions in the region, and is the right platform for us to launch our new range of Emirati caviar and sturgeon fillets.
“Our main objective for taking part is to generate more awareness among the gourmet food society on the first of its kind high quality Emirati produced caviar and sturgeon meat”.
Among the range of products that Emirates Aquatech will display at SIAL Middle East include fresh and pressed caviar, fresh and frozen sturgeon fillets, and hot and cold smoked sturgeon fillets.
The plant is equipped with a German patented technology that allows for the most suitable aquaculture system for fish cultivation and caviar manufacture, resulting in the annual production of 35 tonnes of caviar and up to 485 tonnes of sturgeon meat.
Given the market need of sustainably sourced caviar, Emirates Aquatech aims to deliver a steady and continuous supply of products without being limited by conventional seasonal harvesting.
Added Al Dhaheri: “The farm has the latest fish smoking equipment producing high quality sturgeon fillets that can be sold in regular smoked or flavoured varieties. We plan to expand our product line to include other premium types of caviar and different by-products in the future.”
The three-day event will feature more 1,000 food and equipment manufacturers and suppliers along with a record 21 international pavilions from five continents.
The exhibition is expecting more than 15,000 trade visitors, and returns with the SIAL Middle Conference, a hosted buyer programme, La Cuisine by SIAL international chef competition, and the prestigious SIAL Innovation Observatory, showcasing the world’s most innovative food and beverage products, including winners from the global competitions from events in China, Brazil, Canada and Paris.
