Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi based investment and development company, today announced details of its third annual Youth Forum, set to take place in Abu Dhabi on 24 September at the St Regis Hotel, Saadiyat Island. The event is an integral component of the company’s youth platform, Weyana, which aims to prepare today’s youth for the vital role they will play in the United Arab Emirates’ economic and social development.
Leading Emirati figures in business, academia and a range of more unconventional professions will be on hand to share their career journeys and discuss where to start when exploring the diverse range of professional prospects on offer to today’s graduates.
More than 650 students will hear from UAE role models who are helping to drive the country forward in education, trade and cutting edge industries such as advanced technologies, aerospace, healthcare, aluminium and renewable energy. They will share inspiring anecdotes of their personal experiences in finding the paths that led them to their current roles.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO, Mubadala, commented: “Young people are vital to our country’s long term economic and social development. Not only does the Forum aim to spark inspiration for their paths to professional advancement, but its sessions will provide information, guidance and encouragement to help them choose careers that suit them.”
A highlight of the event will be a series of presentations by young Emirati nationals in unconventional careers from culinary blogging to wilderness photography. These inspiring individuals will talk about the importance of pursuing passion, leveraging strengths and crafting solutions to defy obstacles.
Amina Taher, Head of Social Development and Sponsorship, Mubadala, commented: “Businesses across the UAE are creating new opportunities that will attract, retain and develop highly skilled graduates. Our hope is that these sessions will encourage the curiosity, passion and work ethic needed to pursue those opportunities and play a central role in our nation’s development.”
Bringing together students from universities across the UAE, the panel discussions and interactive sessions will feature leading figures from prominent organizations such as the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Unites States of America, National Center for Documentation and Research, GlobalFoundries, Zayed University and Mubadala. In an effort to cater for Emirati students abroad or those who are unable to attend the Forum, the event’s activities will be streamed live on weyana.ae .
The Mubadala Youth Forum is an initiative of Weyana, Mubadala’s youth platform, and is open to UAE Nationals between the ages of 17-24. To attend, applicants should visit weyana.ae/youthforum.
