Etihad Airways Increases Flights To Kathmandu
(4 September 2013)

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will increase its Abu Dhabi-Kathmandu service from seven flights per week to a double daily schedule from November1, 2013.

The additional flights build on the success of the existing service, driven by the demand from business and leisure travellers and will strengthen the already strong ties between Nepal and the UAE.

The new services will be operated by A320 aircraft fitted with 16 Pearl Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats.

The double daily services enhance the connectivity over the airline’s Abu Dhabi hub to key destinations in Europe, Middle East and GCC.

“The addition of the new flights will further strengthen commercial and cultural ties between Nepal and the UAE and will lead to continued strong growth in traffic flows between Kathmandu, Abu Dhabi and beyond to many key destinations across our global network,” said Kevin Knight, Etihad Airways’ Chief Strategy and Planning Officer.

Since the start of flights to Kathmandu in 2007, Etihad Airways has carried more than 620,000passengers on this route.
