The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, honoured 65 employees who have contributed in total 1,475 years of service to NBAD.
The NBAD Long Service Award 2012 honoured staff consisting of 22 who worked 35 years at the Bank, six with 25 years of service to NBAD, and 37 who served the Group 15 years. The Bank recognised their loyal service to NBAD at a regal ceremony attended by their families and the senior executives of the Bank.
Held annually, NBAD Long Service Award reflects NBAD’s commitment to value and award its staff; in particular recognise those who demonstrated loyalty to the Group over the long-term.
“I congratulate and thank this group of special people who have served the National Bank of Abu Dhabi with dedication and loyalty,” said Ehab Hassan, the Group Chief Human Resources Officer of NBAD. “Since its founding in 1968, NBAD has traveled an exciting and fulfilling journey progressing from a local bank to a global player with active operations in 15 countries and is recognised as groundbreaker in the region. You have been part of this phenomenal journey and contributed to our remarkable success.”
“Moreover,” Mr. Hassan continued, “You contributed to the Bank’s tenfold growth in the last decade, the launch of many new businesses and units, and our distinctions as the first UAE bank to earn more than AED1 Billion dirham in annual net profits in 2004; and again as the first domestic bank to break the US$1 billion ceiling in 2010.”
Since 2009, NBAD has also been ranked one of the World’s 50 Safest Banks and the safest Middle East bank by Global Finance.
Ruwaida S. Shahbal, the Head of Employee Relations & Policies at NBAD, said: “NBAD continues to be the employer of choice because of the Bank’s achievements and its strategy to value employees and treat them as its most valuable asset.”
Ms. Shahbal continued: “NBAD provides its employees the tools and opportunity to grow and expand their skills with us and we are committed to rewarding success and loyalty.”
She added: “I join NBAD’s senior management and the whole NBAD Family to congratulate and thank these 65 veterans for their loyal service and for their contribution to make NBAD the successful organisation that we all take pride in.”
