Middle East organizations and individuals were honored for philanthropy work
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a top-tier Islamic financial institution & Campden Wealth, a leader in providing business owning families with insights and Knowledge, honored the winners of the Middle East first philanthropy award during an award ceremony that took place in Abu Dhabi in the presence of more than 100 of the region’s top philanthropists and foundations.
The awards program honored individuals and organisations that have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields. The prizes were awarded by Khamis Bu Haroon, ADIB Board member & by David Bain, Editorial Director, Campden MediaOne to the below winners:
- Philanthropist of the Year: Arif Masood Naqvi, Board Member, Pearl Initiative
- Young Philanthropist of the Year: Mishael Kano
- Local Foundation of the Year: Welfare Association, Palestine
- Regional Foundation of the Year: Arab Human Rights Fund, Lebanon
- Life-Time Achievement Award: Sheikha Bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan
Commenting on the award, Trad - Al Mahmoud, CEO of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank said, “The Middle East region is now an acknowledged centre of global philanthropic efforts. Both social and cultural philanthropy is growing rapidly in the region, and individuals and foundations are making a real difference to people’s lives in the Middle East and beyond, but until now they haven’t been acknowledged as such.
“We are honored to be associated with such an award and to recognize the efforts of individuals and organizations who have played a major role in changing people’s lives. Philanthropy and community engagement are core values at our bank and they are an integral part of our promise to bring ‘banking as it should be’ to the UAE community,” added Trad.

Submissions were received from more every region of the Middle East, the pool of the total submissions was reduced to 10 by readers of Campden as well as ADIB customers. The winners were then selected by a team of judges made up of 5 experts in the field of philanthropy.
