National Centre For Meteorology Warns Against Reduced Visibility, Rough Sea (2 July 2011)
Visibility has been largely reduced in the Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Western areas thanks to a thick blanket of fog and dust funneled to the country from Southern Iraq, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) NCMS.

Insurance Premiums Up To AED 22 Billion In 2010 (2 July 2011)
The total volume of underwitten insurance premiums in the UAE reached AED 22 billion in 2010, a 10 percent increase when compared with 2090, while the total invested funds in the scetor rose to AED 27.6 billion, according to a report by the Insurance Authority.

Kalima, the translation project of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, published the Arabic translation of award-winning Nadine Gordimer’s "The Pickup." The South African writer, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1991, deals with the issues of immigration and identity.
