Jeff Willis, Chairman, EGBC, said: "The UAE has a firm commitment to green building measures. It is very exciting to see an event that combines an exhibition and the summit on green building with both forums seeking to share leading industry practices, techniques and accomplishments. At the same time, we believe the summit will prove to be an appropriate venue for industry professionals to exchange ideas and partner with each other to further develop green building industry.

“In 2006 when the Emirates Green Building Council was formally launched, it was the eighth green building council in the world. Over the past four years, we have experienced great transformations in the industry where numerous councils have been established to actively promote green building principles. We want this trend to continue with every country in the region joining hands to ensure the sustainable future of the construction industry.”

In addition to Jeff Willis, individual sessions will also host speakers including Steven Pratt, Secretary of Emirates GBC, Graeme McCaig, General Manager of Dutco Balfour Beatty, Ms. Martina Konrad - Dipl. Ing., Architect Sustainability Consultant,
Daniel Hajjar, Vice-Chairman of Emirates GBC, Adnan Sharafi, Awareness and Marketing Coordinator at Emirates GBC, Professor Neil Kirkpatrick - Head of Environment and Sustainability at Royal Group, and Richard Smith, Technical Director – Middle East and India – Atkins.
