twofour54 and America Abroad Media (AAM) have teamed up to bring top US television and creative industry executives to the Capital to strengthen relationships and support local talent development. In recognition of Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation in the global film and television industry, four distinguished media and entertainment executives will spend a week in the Capital meeting local industry players and leading workshops with young industry talent and those interested in pursuing a career in television and the creative industries. The programme of public workshops and closed sessions will take place at the twofour54 campus between 30 May and 1 June.
Making the trip to Abu Dhabi is television comedy writer, producer, and director, Greg Daniels, known for his work on several hit TV series including The Office and Parks & Recreation; Benjamin Silverman, award-winning executive producer of shows such as The Office, The Tudors and Ugly Betty; along with Howard T. Owens, Founder and Co-CEO of Propagate Content; and Brian Edelman, CEO of Rain, an award winning creative and technology agency.
Maryam Al Mheiri, Acting CEO of twofour54, said: “We are excited to be working with AAM on this venture that will offer young Arab talent the opportunity to learn from internationally renowned media professionals and content creators. Talent development is one of our most important objectives at twofour54 and the reputation that we have built for Abu Dhabi as a film and television production hub means that we can now attract the best in the business to help inspire and upskill young people working in television or those who are interested in pursuing a career in creative industries.”
Aaron Lobel, Founder and President of America Abroad Media, said: “The potential we see in Abu Dhabi is significant. We are thrilled to contribute to developing talent in a market that has rapidly evolved and is at the centre of attention in the international media and entertainment industry. Abu Dhabi has earned a prominent position over a short period of time following its success in attracting blockbuster productions such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Fast & Furious 7. It was only fitting that we partner with the leading hub of media and content creation in the region, twofour54, to engage this market, exchange knowledge and further strengthen ties.”
Sponsored by Etihad Airways, the programme of workshops starts on Monday and includes three open sessions that are free for the public to attend. For more information on the programme and to register for a workshop, please visit: http://www.twofour54.com/events
