Apparel Group, the global fashion and lifestyle retail conglomerate based in Dubai, has been awarded the franchisee for LC Waikiki, Turkey’s leading fashion chain. Apparel Group, which already represents more than 50 brands across 900 stores, is looking to open its first UAE based store at Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi.
LC Waikiki specializes in clothes and accessories for men, women and children of all ages. Originating from France and fostered in Turkey, LC Waikiki is a Turkish multi-cultural fashion brand with global appeal. The brand’s growing distribution and market coverage is accompanied by a distinctive strategy – to provide high-quality clothing at great value.
LC Waikiki now has more than 450 stores in countries around the world and is looking to expand within the Middle East. Plans also include launching stores in other markets such as Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar. The brand currently operates across countries such as Romania, Egypt, Bulgaria, Morocco, Poland and Russia in addition to its domestic outlets.

The UAE’s retail sector has shown rapid growth over recent years, with a number of international brands vying for a share of the lucrative market. AT Kearney’s recent 2013 Retail Apparel Index ranked the UAE second after China in a list of booming retail markets. The index identifies the world’s top 10 developing countries ranked in the AT Kearney Global Retail Development Index in terms of market attractiveness, retail development, and country risk for their clothing retail industries.
