The French Alliance. Part of the Abu Dhabi festival program, was honored to present the Virtuoso trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf on the stage of the Abu Dhabi Theatre last night (Friday) taking the audience on an incredible musical journey. With a repertoire of fusion oriental jazz and rock, Maalouf showcased his versatility in a concert held in association with Alliance Française.
Combining the influences of his Arabic heritage with the diverse sounds and rhythms of Latin jazz, Batucadas from Brazil, through to the marching bands of the Balkans, Maalouf brought the house down with this unique combination of talent and passion as he interacted with the audience throughout the performance.
Speaking after the concert, Her Excellency Mrs. Hoda I Al Khamis Kanoo, Founder and Artistic Director of the Abu Dhabi Festival said: “The Abu Dhabi Festival is committed to providing a platform for young, emerging talent to showcase their skills. It is fantastic that Ibrahim, such a talented young musician, is able to join the Festival this year. His enchanting performance, drawing from so many musical genres and influences brought the Festival theme ‘Connecting Cultures’ to life.”
The captivated audience enjoyed every minute of the diverse performance that featured rousing pieces from his album “diagnostic”. The French Alliance of Abu Dhabi continuously offers cultural events that you can check on facebook Alliance.Francaise. Abou.Dabi or on www.af-aboudabi.net
